Although Sefton has 13 allotment sites, the nearest to Ainsdale are at Birkdale and Formby. For those living in West Lancashire there are just 5 sites with a total of 45 plots, the nearest being Burscough and Ormskirk
This is a great pity as local plot holders have to commute to their plots. Added to this problem is the growing waiting list for a plot. Is it not time for Ainsdale to have its own allotment site?
